Pipe replacement

Hey All,
I need to replace this section of pipe and add a ball valve. I can build the section ahead but the two connection points to the tank will need drying time. Question is, how long? And what can I expect during the drying time i.e., temp drop. etc…I have an idea but I want to make sure all my bases are covered.

The right way would be toss a heater and power heads in the tank and let it dry overnight.

The usual way is to let it dry for an hour and turn it on.

The "aint nobody got time for that" way is to glue it with the blue stuff, wait about 10 min and turn it on.

Use heavy duty glue, remember to twist the pipe 1/4 turn to smear the glue around the joint and wipe away the excess ( if it doesnt squeeze out some glue you didnt use enough)

Most pvc glue recommends 15 minutes to set and up to 2 hours for full cure.
While the longer you can let it set, the better, home aquarium applications are low pressure and you can go on the short end of that scale.
I wouldn't expect too much of a temperature change, maybe just add an airstone and keep your circulation pumps running.

You should be fine with just the circulation pumps running as long as you have surface agitation still to help oxygenate the water.
