Plate Coral behavior after intro to my tank

I'm keeping a plate coral for a fellow ARC member and this is the first one that I've had in my tank. After placing the plate coral in my tank on the sand bed which is about 4-5inch's with only Actinic's on. In a low to moderate flow. It burrowed down into to the sand bed with only about a 1/2 inch of the body visible. Is this normal?

Thanks LilRobb. I read that they move slightly but didn't think burrowing was possible.

Thanks rolo65. I have a yellow head gobie and engineer gobie but they normally dig close to there own individual rocks. The place I put the plate coral was no were close. I gently resurface him and looks fine.

After looking further my yellow head gobie decided to take up residence under a rock near the area where the plate coral was placed. This caused the sand underneath to slowly fill that hole. I guess he's more active digging than I thought. :doh: All is well though and thanks for the insight.
