I recently picked up a plate coral that was entirely white. I was told it arrived this way from sunpets and that it was dead. Knowing the difference between dead and stressed I brought it home. He has regained all of his color and looks fabulous except he has no tentacles showing...

It's amazing how they can completely retract their tissue and look dead.

It may just have really short tentacles. Pictures might be helpful.

Best 2 pics I could get. I only have my phone so I hope this helps. This is as colorful and pretty as he gets. He is roughly 4 inches in diameter.

That's just a different species of plate, they all look like that. Good job bringing it back!

Thanks. However every thing I've read says it's a short tentacle species... but there no tentacles? I'm so confused. Lol

I see them all the time at sunpet, but not sure on the species. Never heard them by that name though. They're very hard and not fleshy at all. But that's how it should look
