Lol yeah. I’ve had to cut bulk heads from a used tank before because someone used some sort of glue then cut the plumbing so it couldn’t be reused. Biggest PITA

Not permanent glue but plumbers paste is what you should be using.

mor goes on like a paste and will hold solid. I’ve never had a leaks from a threaded pvc using this

Do yall always glue pvc plumbing to the bulkheads on the sump?

Are you talking about gluing PVC pipe to a bulkhead or gluing the actual bulkhead to the sump/tank?

Usually I do glue those just for simplicity sake. Yes if the bulkhead fails you have to cut it out but PVC is cheap and there is a union near by, so you're not replacing much. If it's a large fitting coming off an overflow box, 1-1/2" or larger, I use threaded fittings so it can be disassembled for cleaning.

Now, to the top of a sump. I just slip fit those with no glue. If I see some salt creep I pull the pipe and wrap some teflon tape around it.
