Still in-shock that the skimmer hasn't made an impact. Makes me wonder...

Ive ran all my tanks without one. just a skimmer and a return pump. very simply, keep the sump clean, and you shouldnt have any issues.

Ditto here. I wetvac the sump every water change with a Lowes Bucket head...
