I am cleaning up my wiring and want to go with a single power supply and was wondering if this would work?

I think I am using a max of 5.4 amps. Does wattage matter? Do I need to be looking for a switching power supply?

Is this for a DIY fixture? Are you using a driver of some sort to get the constant current?

Is 48v enough voltage?

There are so many ways to wire and power LEDs. It is hard to give advice on this power supply without knowing how you have things currently configured. Have a build thread?

I am sorry yes its DIY. I am using LDD drivers.

8 x Solderless CREE XT-E Royal Blue LED
8 x Solderless CREE XP-E Blue LED
4 x Solderless CREE XP-E Green LED
10 x Solderless CREE XP-G Cool White LED
4 x Solderless CREE XP-E Red LED
8 x Solderless UV LED

Each on its own channel

I don't have the specs on the LDD drivers, but as long as they can drop the voltage from 48 to 15ish, you will probably be okay. The only concern I would have is possible heat issues from the driviers dropping the voltages on the smaller channels. Are you currently pushing 48v to each channel? If so, and you don't have any issues, I would run with it.

The reference to "switching" I believe refers to a mechanism of converting AC current to DC and I think it is more efficient.

Without knowing all your specs it's hard to say, but you're looking in the right direction with the LDD drivers.

Here's a link to the conversation I had when I was looking for my power supply. And YES, wattage does matter. That's part of how you determine your Amperage (Watts/Volts=Amps)

Hope it helps.

That power supply is overkill. I am running 96 3watt leds on a 350watt supply with no issues.

I just looked up the price of a 360 watt pet supply and the price difference is amazing. I was going to go fit my original one in case I upgrade in the future. But it is hard to justify the price difference.
