Is a 10 gal tank large enough to set up a predator tank. I would like to have a mini lion fish and a puffer or box or cow fish. Thanks Bubba

Yeah it is especially for the last 2. I have a 20 long if you are itching to set up another tank. You have everything else. Dwarf lion may be ok in that, but still not comfy. The sump and skimmer you have would be proper overkill if ya do go for it

I take that back. 20 is still too small.
Now if you wanted a nem tank or frag tank the 20 long would be great just because it is shallow you wouldn't have to use much lighting. I am offering this just in case you have that itch to setup another tank.
Free of course
Keep the 10 for a qt tank.

mulling this over. I do like my nems, have to look into my light stash. what are the demensions of the 20? And did I read you correctly, it can be hooked into my existing sump? Thanks, Bubba

It could, but I was talking about hooking it up seperately in with the extra sump and skimmer you have in the garage

I do not have the room to set up extra equipment. I just got it all listed and am going to put it on the site to sell or trade.
Remember my skimmer is the bubble blaster 2000 and my pump is a mag 9.5. Have a great day, Bubba

If you are going with that much bioload in a 10 gallon tank, you need a really big filtration system. 10 gallons or even 20 not recommended. I had a valentini puffer and it's a little guy and it needed at least 30 gallons.

The equiment I mentioned, bubble blaster and 9.5 mag pump are used for my 75 gal tank. I was thinking if I add a much smaller tank for pred. or nems I would want to run them from the same equipment. Wow, 9.5 mag for 10 gal. when I installed the mag I had to down size the tubing to keep it from spraying the ceiling.
OK, I'm over the Pred. tank....giving a great deal of thought to just nems...must study on that. Thanks again. Bubba

Lemme know if ya do. I have some nice small rocks with holes in them for the nems to foot. I can't use them

Where there is a will there is a way. 10 gal COULD be suitable for a predator tank as long as you do a species specific of the proper fish. Here are 2 that come to mind.

Ocellated frogfish. Max length 2in.
