Preferred tank temps

Fired up the LED system yesterday and have to use a heater just to maintain 76:eek: Skimmer and reactors not on-line yet so I expect the additional pumps to pick up the slack.

Sweet. I think I'm getting ready to switch from halide to AI LEDs. I'd love to get rid of my chiller. How much heat do you think 2 250W halides permeate into the room?

You'll never look back.

Use Apex seasonal control with LEDs. Run temps in 74-80 cycle over 12 month peorid.

Been running 72 - 74 during the winter. I'm curious to see what happens this summer. I'm trying to keep it as low as possible. Reason being, from what I've read, there is a lower chance of illness and you get better color out of the corals. The downside is slower growth, but I'm OK with that. So far, so good!

I would love to have the link to that if you still have it.

Controlled to 77-78. At 77 heaters kicks on to pull up to 77.5. At 78 chiller kicks on to pull down to 77.5. I have some cooler water and warmer water species ... everybody seems happy with this range.

I dont have a link but have noticed better color from my millis and a few other SPS. The purples and greens seemed to come out more.
Could that be from the lights?

Sure! I'll have to google it again, and there's a thread or two on here about it. I'll see if I can find them.
