Woke up this morning to a chilly house... we are rural; no natural gas out here so we have propane heat. I checked my tank level not long ago, and I have a driver that usually comes by and checks, filling if needed. I underestimated how much we've been using, and we ran out during the night last night.

Now, it didn't get too cold. I usually keep the thermostat on 69 or 70 during the nighttime hours. The temp in the house was 65 when we woke up.

My tank normally only shows a .8 swing, every single day. Sandies, for some reason, swings .1 every single day.

Both tanks were 2 degrees below normal this morning. It seems both were right on the line of the heaters not being able to keep up and 4-5 degrees ambient change was all it took to cross that line.

Spare heaters are in both now, and gas is on the way, so I think all is well but I just wanted to throw this out there in case any of you may be "underheated".

Glad it didn't end ugly Barry, I've been meaning to change my heater out and you just reminded me of that.

All heaters should also be checked annualy. It's much cheaper to replace a bad heater than to replace livestock!

+1 for good guessing skills!

(I was going with Prostate Specific Antigens, but was really grasping how that fit in)
