I picked this beautiful anemone up 2 days ago and it is still fully open, completely healthy looking... except it doesn't stick to any rocks in the tank. I managed to place it on a rock so that it doesn't float around the tank, but its leg has white stuff on the bottom and it still isn't attaching to anything.
I am assuming it got damaged when it was captured, but is this something that will cause death soon, or since it looks completely healthy otherwise, the foot could heal?
Other forums I have read range this from, "remove it from the tank, it will die with a damaged foot" to "anemones are cut in half when fragged all the time, leave it alone and in 2 weeks it will be completely healed."
Of course this range of answers is typical of the reef world, but does anyone have any experience or advice? ARC USUALLY</em> gets it right
