Radion Users-TIR Lenses Now Available

EcoTech is usually tight lipped about anything new regarding products and updates.

What exactly do folks mean when they say "control" thru the Apex. You'd be able to power the lights from the Apex but other than the program that you customize, what "control" are you looking for?

Other than turning them off or on you are out of luck right now.

Lol! I sorta does look like that. "While your in there, secure this cable down... we forgot". However, other than the insert shot of the lens being centered, the video is shot straight thru with no edits, so they could conceivably advertise that it takes less than ten minutes to install.

I'm a bit impressed with seeing the inside of the fixture. Usually when I see the inside of electronics, its a bunch of stuff that make no sense to me. I only see a little bit of stuff that makes no sense to me. I don't know why that impresses me, but it does.

On another note, did it seem like the guys screwdriver slipped and possibly scratched the mess out of one of the pucks?

Basically, I want the Apex to be able to change the Radions program/profile. Just like I do with AI’s and vortechs … control the radions via Apex to run at x% by LED color (run a predefined “profile”). For example, I can control my AI’s via apex to run Royal Blues at 20%, Blues at 10% and Whites at 0% with one tap. Similarly, I can do the same with my vortech’s with one tap during feeding time … rear pumps off and side pumps down to 20% power on ReefCrest. I’ve got no issue setting up the radion profiles via the ecotech software, but not being able to simply execute existing profiles via apex is my issue.

Yep … about the only solution right now. Kill the Radions and dim my apex-controllable AI’s. I don't thank you would be able to git as much control with a apex or rk as you will with pc I do thank a blue tooth connection would be nice but not a deal breaker as ecotech customer service is top notch there products have great build quality, price is a little high but worth it
There is realy no way to compare ai to a raidon its like comparing a candle to a lightbulb

I posted several months back about this in a thread on RC that EcoTech would be a prime candidate to launch a line of controllers to compete with Neptune and Digital Aquatics, and I still predict that they will.

They have the wireless EcoSmart control platform right now, they have integrated lights and circulation pumps, and they are about to launch a mobile device control platform for them.

How big a step would it be for EcoTech to develop and sell an entire Controller Line for pumps, reactors, pH controllers, etc? They could offer versatility with some wireless integration in the system as well, like controlling a second reef setup without having to run a long cable to it.

EcoTech may not be partnering with the other controller manufacturers because they may be competitors in the future. JMO.

+1. I think that's the exact situation. Questions to both of them on this topic from me have been oddly silent. Ask about a different topic and I get an immediate response, but not on this one. There's a reason.

I am beginning to wonder about PAR.

Is it similar to a pound? A pound of apples and a pound of grapes are both a pound, but we are measuring the weight of different things.

A pound of gummy bears will make me sick, a pound of spinach will make me feel better.

Just a thought.
