Hey everyone I had to tear down my 75g and get ready to move..;( but I was wondering if anyone would know what levels would be good for my Radions and how high above the 8g nano thanks everyone

you would have to play around with it and see but i would say somewhere around 15% maybe up to 20% and you wouldnt want it too high because you would get crazy amounts of light spill since they are made to cover a fairly wide area. but also you dont want it too close as the fan is right there on the bottom of the fixture. maybe try making a canopy that the radion could fit in so you could have it the requisite 8-10 inches off the waters surface and not get all that light spill

Is there any good nano tank LEDs that are worth it

if you're handy at all you could build one yourself for pretty cheap but ive never really had a tank the proper size to require a nano led. all my tanks have either been picos (5.5 gallons or less) that require a custon solution or a large enough tank that would require normal lighting so im not sure how well any of the nano lights work. AI does make a sol nano you could check out but im not a big fan of their sols

Okay we'll I appreciate it il look into it

no problem paul. good luck man

Edit: oh hey i just thought of something. you could use 2 or 3 par 38 bulbs

Okay the only problem is I don't have a good and I would have to make some sort of canopy/light bar

I'd check all the board classifieds. You should be able to find an AI sol nano with mounting arm and controller for about $200 shipped.

The panarama pros would be a more cost effective. You can run 3 with a splitter and can also put a manual dimmer inline, if needed. I actually have an all blue one and power supply I'm not using, I could do for $50 shipped.

I'd avoid the par38s, most come with 45 degree lenses and are non-dimmable. I think they are great for deep hex tanks but would be way too much for your tank.

boost led makes some for reef tanks but they're kind of expensive heres a par 30 for 75 bucks. they show a picture of a clamp that goes on your tank but i think it only comes with the kit.

a panorama pro would work just as well. but id get a 50/50 instead of all blue but you would also have to build something to house it.

You could even do 1 or 2 Ecoxotic Stunner Strips with mixed lights to give you a more full spectrum look. 1 White(8K or 12K)/Blue(453nm or 445nm) and 1 Magenta/(12K White or 453nm Blue) depending on if you like more blue or white in your tank.

stunner strips are great for color but they dont put out a ton of par. it would take several of them (probably 4 or 5) to be able to keep corals that need a decent amount of light

Edit: hey paul check out this one you could probably get away with just one bulb. and you can get it with 80 degree optics http://www.rapidled.com/12-led-par38-bulb-mixed-color-with-uv/

i have a kessil a150 that does great on my 29bc. Grows everything i want. only drawback is that it isnt dimmable.

He is lighting 8 gallons...It would be no different than dimming the pros, right?

yes its the same as dimming a pro but you would only need one pro vs several stunners

I'd def skip the panorama pros. I'm not impressed with mine to say the least. Get ya a kessil a150 15000k and you'll never look back

I had a par 30 bulb over a 6gal nano that worker well and didn't break the bank.
