Random pic of the day thread

I picked it up a wild A. Sarmentosa and it grew really nicely in my tank about a year ago. . Its like a mint green with brown/purple polyps. It’s about 6” across now.

anyone else grow one of these?

Beautiful piece!...

I‘ll take that chalice it’s shadowing! :D

Trident saves my ass today. Not impressed with the longevity of these tubes by Versa.

Versa was not feeding my calcium reactor because these Tubes are solidified, causing all parameters to be off. If I hadn’t check Apex Fusion today, who knows how long before I catch this problem

Leo gave up on the Versa with his calcium reactor and went with a Kamoer FX-STP.

He did post a write up on his experience, and the company’s responses.

Apparently, their tube sets are not as durable as the pumps themselves.

Whatever rubber/polymer compound is being used in that tubing, it’s apparently not compatible with the effluent and/or duty cycle.

Bill,

this crap! So I’m an early adopter of the 4 pack and i sold my kamoer and DOS to consolidate space under my stand.

1) I had leaking issue, no problem they send the replacement parts overnight

2) One of the 4 replacement parts leaked....ok I’m almost done with them

3) im sensitive to noise, so I had to use 2 Versa because I couldn’t bear the humming sounds I hear at 40mL/min for a single Versa. So much louder than my Kamoer. Also I had not replaced the roller for my kamoer for over a year and it kept chucking along

4) 3months later today (last email with them was March 4th), both tubings in the Versas that are feeding my calcium went to hell....

They touted about the Versa being in development for 10 years. Clearly, that must have been the pump itself & didn’t include the tubing.

It’s a lesson in product development, about how not to overlook anything, regardless of how small or trivial it may seem.

They will need to resolve this quickly, otherwise the market will determine the fate of the product. For some, it is already too late.

i think the tubing may have deteriorated much earlier than what i stated and here's my rational:

according to my trident chart, there's slow decrease in alk since June 10, only 3 days from my post last night. Having said that, i believe the water in the lines have been flowing in a "passive" way because the hardened tubing is just rock solid and there's no way that the versa motor can squeeze (or maybe it was barely squeezing) the liquid out of the tubing.

I bought the kamoer based on @hzheng33 recommendation and best move I did. Funny cause then you switched after I got it. Sucks you have to go through that. Anyway to diy some better tubing?

someone told me they can’t pull with the versa, rather they have to push water thru the calc reactor. is that true?

you can pull water but they recommend pushing. the equipment is too new in the market and i doubt even ETM knows the right answer.
