Ok, I have a 12 gallon nano cube with the original hood, one of the ballast went out and I decided I want to upgrade my lighting. What do you guys think of this light?

Thank you for your time and input lighting has always been my weak spot in the hobby

yea i know its deff a cheap O but i keep pretty common stuff shrooms, frogspawn, cheap zoas etc..

just wondering if it would support the basics.

Also for about $10 more and with no shipping, you could consider getting a Ecoxotic Panorama LED strip from a sponser store. I have one on my 12g Aquapod and it does great growing mushrooms, zoas, and even some candy cane corals.

That's actually a pretty cool light. Glad to know someone makes something like this. That being said, you'll probably have to replace the ballasts and bulbs within a year, and there's no telling how great that reflector works, nor the quality of the housing.

Agree. I took pix of our Aquapod yesterday, 6 1/2 months after making the change from PC.

Unfortunately my work computer took a dirt nap so I haven't got them posted yet, but I will *hopefully* later today.

No heat, no need to change lamps, only 12 watts of power consumption... no brainer.

Metal halide is way overkill for what you mentioned you want to keep, IMO.
