Hey all. What circulation pump would everyone recommend for for a Fluval 13.5g? Figure about 10 gallons of actual water in the tank. I’ve heard great things about the Hydor Koralia Nano Aquarium Circulation Pump but I can’t find the 240 model anywhere.

Thanjs!

In my 22g tank I have a jebao tw-10 and a jebao rw-4. They both move enough water but the TW-10 is a little smaller in size. I am looking at the sw-4 to go into my 6g mushroom tank. I haven't seen the size in person but it looks to be pretty small.

I have a Hydor Koralia Nano 425 on my 24g cube. The pump works just fine but imo it’s a bit big and harder to hide in the display. From a quick search online, it looks like the 240 is about the same dimensions. Knowing that, I’d probably try to find something a bit smaller. Also, unless you by the supporting wave maker controller, neither are controllable in any way.

It’s a great, reliable budget pump but if you can spend more or save up for a nicer one, I’d recommend it. I’m hoping to swap for a Nero 3 around Christmas.

Sorry to complicate things...LOL... but I love Sicce pumps for just about everything. Maybe a Sicce 0.5 or 1.0 with a valve to help throttle it back.

Thanks! I ended up going with the Sicce 1.0 pump and aimed the flow towards the top. Do you think that is too strong for my 13.5 gallon tank (figure it is holding about 10 gallons of water).

That was not accurately stated. Went with the sicce voyager nano 1000 stream pump (link below though I bought from local store to support, not from Petco). Too strong? Was the smallest I could find.

I would add a valve inline to throttle it back in case. The Sicce can be throttled back a bit by itself, but a simple ball valve will make it much easier to dial in.

10 gal tank volume, what is the turnover that you want? I aim for a 3-4x turnover in my tank.

I am new to the hobby, so flying a little blind but aiming for the same neighborhood of around 3x. What ball valve would you recommend. And thanks for the help! I owe you one!

K, now I am wrong, I though you meant return pump. Self face slap!!!

A 240 gph flow pump is not to strong for a 10 gal tank, you just may need to play around with the direction a bit.

It really depends on the corals, if you want to keep any, that you plan on keeping in the tank.

Wow.

I was getting a little nervous because the tailspot blenny I have in the tank seems to be hiding a little more since I did a water change and installed the sicce yesterday. Was worried the flow was too strong for him. I know they can be shy and was hoping he was just a little freaked out with all the action yesterday and he will start coming out more again in the next few days.
