Been fighting an out break of bryopsis and started increasing my MG by 100 or so everyday trying to get to 1600-1700.
Stopped into a local LFS the other day to pickup some liquid mag supplement since I was getting tired of mixing seachem's powder.
During my discussion with the manager of the LFS he recommended I use Red Sea NO3:PO4-X. Another customer in the store overheard our conversation and said he started using the NO3 when he had a problem with bryopsis and said it cleared it up.

Does anyone have any experience with this product?
From what I read on the box it basicly helps with high phosphate and nitrate issues.
What if nitrate and phosphate levels in your tank are so low they don't show up with test kits?
would there be any reason to use this product?

Sorry, I have never used that product. I have read many forums where Kent Tech M was used to raise Mag levels to erradicate bryopsis. From my understanding it wasn't the increased mag levels rather a impurity found in that particular product. good luck!

This product is fantastic. Almost seven weeks ago our established tank of one year would go through cycles of red slime and other algae breakouts every couple of weeks. We would see nitrate readings of 60+ regardless of how often we changed water or cleaned our filter blocks and socks in our sump.

At the advice of a store we started NO3:PO4-X and were told we wouldn't see a complete result for three or so weeks. Like magic we started seeing a difference in algae in two weeks and nitrate levels of about 40. After another two weeks we had nitrate levels at about 10. Now after about seven weeks we are finishing off a 500 ml bottle and have nitrate levels of 1 to 2. (Our tank is 75 gal with 30 gal sump and treated about 9 ml a day for the first few weeks and now 2 ml a day on average now).

If you are using a generic test for nitrates you could have nitrates up to about 3 to 5 and just not get accurate reading. The product recommends using the red sea phosphate and nitrate tester because they are more sensitive. We have had good success with seachem nitrate test giving accurate results as well.

This product would be good if you are battling algae or want to see more growth or color from your corals. It has great easy instructions for whether you want higher growth or if you want more vibrant colors and explains in detail how different levels effect corals.

don't believe salifert is a generic test kit nor is seachem so I will go along with their readings but I do find your results intriguing. would like to hear from a couple others as to their results and if they are using it in a system with no readable phosphates or nitrates according to reputable testing kits.
