Are you talking about the pros and cons of the plain reefbreeders led and the controllable reefbreeders, or reefbreeders vs some other brand?

I recently purchased the photon32, which is the 200watt 32" controllable fixture. For one, it covers my 48" 90 gallon easily. One feature it has that I think is great is you can set intensity of 2 different channels in half hour increments so its like having a sunrise and sunset that repeats automatically. Can basically set it and not have to mess with ever again. I just put in a birdsnest and another sps and I am already seeing good growth. So I am extremely pleased with it and really don't have any negatives about it.

This caught my eye so I took a look at the Photon32 as well. That looks like an amazing unit for the price...

So it's a 300w? I have 2 300w Eshine 3G's.... I wonder if I would feel any real loss going from that to a 300w spread system. I LOVE that controller on the Photon. Something I can't do with my Eshines at all.

I'm tagging alon to see if anyone has any additional info on this one. Looks like a great price for controllable LED lighting with multiple led colors. I'm a total noob with regards to LED fixtures.
Is there a correlation in wattage/par between that and MH's? I have 2 - 250 MH's with 2 95W PCs over my tank and I want to make sure I have the equivalent or more in LED sometime when I swapover.
(get really tired of the heat buildup from the MH's)

It's a 200 watt fixture, if u go to reefbreeder website they have the particulars on how many and what type if LEDs they are.

As far as what these are comparable to, vivid aquariums did a side by side comparison of led's to 400 watt metal halides in the same tank. Google vivid aquarium light experiment and u should find it. Gives specific par data and shows coral growth.

Hmm I am not sure about how many, I never counted them. I am fairly certain it's a 200watt light though, at least according to their site.

"The exact color combo is as follows: channel 1; 24 4500K neutral whites, 4 480nm blues, 4 520nm greens, 4 450nm royal blues, 4 660nm reds, and 8 410-420nm violets. Channel 2; 48 450nm royal blue, Channel 3; 3 480nm blue moonlights, for a total of 99 3 watt LEDs."

IDK....this is really tempting. The whole sunrise sunset feature is eating at me...

I'd go controllable. I have the value and it kicks *** but the control feature is very nice. They are greater units from my experience though, so you can't go wrong

Most 3w chip only run at 2w to maximize life of the chip, so 200w for 99 leds sounds about right

I have the 120w 16 inch fixture over my 60 cube. I could not be happier with the reef breeders fixture. The sunrise/set feature is really neat and it is built well plus the two year warranty is a huge plus

That 32 in Led looks great I wonder if it would have enough light for a 48 in. tank 20 in deep?

It does, my tank is 48 inches long and 24 inches deep and it's plenty of light.

Great news , how much difference do you think the 90 degrees vs 120 ?

To me it was a pretty big difference I have both. The 90's were more directed had to hang the fixture alot higher to get it to spread the width almost 16 inches above the tank I was worried it being that high I wasn't getting good depth penetration. With the 120's I am 6 inches over the tank good spread and penetration and everything in the tank is doing great. If you get one make sure to dim down and work your way up these babies are bright.
