I have a deep blue 40 gallon breeder and it had the center brace. (Thought all breeders didnt have them) and im thinking about removing it and euro bracing it some how. Has anyone done this or know how it can be done?

If it has a center brace, it's there for a reason. To remove it will compromise the integrity of the tank. It will also void the warranty if it is still under warranty.

I wouldn't do it.

I would think eurobracing it would be okay. I don't know if I would remove it without something to help but a couple panes across the lengths would remove any bowing. What thinkness are the front and rear panes?

Lol I just bought this one brand new and paid $80 + and if I do it im going to do euro bracing at the corners.. and I want to remove it bc ill have a shadow in the middle og the tank if not

Agree, I have a 75g with a brace and I am using an ATI t5-HO fixture...cant see or notice any blockage (no shadow).

If you just want one without a brace, get a new one.

If its blocking light...
fill the tank up
use a few clamps to brace it front to back
cut the brace out(leaving about an inch on both ends)
replace it with a piece of acylic and use nylon bolts to secure it
remove clamps and done.

I have the same issue. I just have to keep cleaning it every week to remove salt creep on top and algae growth on the bottom.

The tank im talking about is brand new never seen water

And it's a shallow tank so not much outward pressure. At 16 inches, you're talking about approximately 0.6psi and 345 lbs overall. I wouldn't put an MP60 on full flow in the tank but sans that, you should be fine.

The glass is the same as the glass in the ones with no brace. I didn't see you ask yhay In your first post sorry about thay

Well if it's brand new, altering it will void the warranty. So if you remove it and it leaks, you're on the hook.

I echo the suggestion of just exchanging it for one without a brace if it's that big of a concern to you. The ones without braces are built differently - most likely with thicker glass.

It's your call to make - if you really want to do it, do it. Just know the risk associated with it.

The warranty will be void when I drill it.. and the tank is made of the same glass thickness as the one I have that dont have the brace.. like I said before I may just swap out the trims on them.. or I may just go with it how it is

Should have just gone with a 57 RR. They come in rimless. A few more dollars but by the time you go through the hassle of drilling, modifying etc...

Just a thought.
