Hey

Picked up a Fungia today that appears to be on the verge of not making it. I'd like to hear some suggestions on what I can do to give it the best opportunity for recovery. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Tyson

plates are a fairly resilient bunch of thugs.

I would just place it on your sand bed and wait. maybe feed it once a week at night if it is healthy enough to extend polyps.

moderate flow, moderate light, try to spot feed the mouth as the tenacles probably won't be extended if it's pissed. Keep fish from stealing it's food.

What should I feed? All I have is mysis. Will that work. I also use reef roids about twice a week. (Don't know if the stuff works but the LFS I bought it at swore by it)

either/both. whatever will get in the mouth and stay in it to eat. mine get mysis.

I cut the top off a plastic 2 liter coke bottle and would place it over the fungia, squirt some food in the top hole and cover it with a small rock.

That way my wrasse wouldnt sneak up and take all the food, two it would give the fungia all the time it needed to consume, and three I would be able to tell that it actually ate something. My wrasse was smart enough to wait till I got far from the tank before going for the food. He was pretty efficient at it.

They show results quickly when feeding them well.

Good Luck
