Just curious to see what salt you guys think is the best salt for a reef setup. Im currently using instant ocean reef crystal.

Ive heard with red sea you dont have to do much dosing

I personally hated the RS Coral Pro. I didn't get the numbers from it they claimed. It didn't perform as well as the regular Instant Ocean or Kent that I've been using. If you dose, why pay for the additional content in the higher end salts?

I had a similar experience with RS Coral Pro, switched to Seachem Reef a few years ago and never looked back.

I used to use IO Reef Crystals - it worked really well, but as I added corals to my tank I switched to Red Sea Coral Pro. I like it pretty well, corals and fish are doing good.
Only problem is that it is not sold around here and is of course more expensive. That being said, I did just order it again. :-)

so am I the only using reef crystal lol...

I use Salinity but thinking about making switch since I just started dosing.

Do you have a fish only tank? If you have a reef setup, are you dosing any other chemicals?

For all the others whom replied "'Instant Ocean" is your salt. Do you have a fish only tank? If you have a reef setup, are you dosing other chemicals?

I think that in a tank with moderate amours of SPS or clams RSCP is great. I have to dose Alk a bit but that is it. I suspect in tanks with heavy SPS or clam loads you will need to dose no matter what so using normal IO or similar makes better sense.
