Sickly yellow tang

I was at petland in dunwoody and saw yellow tangs for 29 but they didn't look right kind of thin would any of you ever bought a sick fish and nursed it back to health

I have rescued sick fish (free), never purchased. Especially at that price.... Thats healthy fish price.

it is definitely not easy to bring a sick fish back to healthy if the fish isnt eating. i had a few problems when the fish doesnt eat.

I bought some sickly looking clarki clownfish from a petco once. They were skinny and mostly yellow with pale stripes. I had them for a week on good food and their colors popped out. Now they look photo worthy lol. But these are clowns and not tangs, so there might be more of a risk.

i ended up just getting a mushroom rock and a nice sized sleeper goby

the goby immediately swam under a rock out of sight after i acclimated him that always makes me nervous lol

I had a jawfish do that, and the next day he was belly up, mouth gaping. Hopefully that wont happen to you though. Good luck

oops it was actually a jawfish! not a goby i typed it wrong now im even more nervous lol i'll keep an eye out

ok i found him he was hiding under a rock i guess this is is his new home i turned the lights on and fed some mysis shrimp he came out and nibbled at a couple then went right back in

well thats not a "bad" spot to be in, mine went under in the back under all my rocks (All i could see of him was a fin). How I think he died was lack of oxygen because I don't think my flow went back there.

hey man I think simon has decent sized yellows for like 25? also I think atlanta aquarium was selling for 22.50 and those are healthy tangs as said before. I would deff shoot for one of those places rather than the sick looking ones from petco

yea im gonna go back this weekend and pick one up from nemos probably i was just close to that petland in dunwoody and desided to swing by and see what they had lol

oooo petland much diff. than petco, I thought petland dunwoody and petland athens were always pretty decent??

well they had some alright stuff just the tangs didnt look all that hot i got a nice sized mushroom rock
