so im running a Pacific Coast PS-100P skimmer....its been running for a few months now and still running pretty wet.....and thoughts about where the level inside the bubble chamber should be to get the skimate a bit drier?
Try raising your skimmer out of the water a little more. Building a simple pvc stand is easy if you need some sort of "shelf" to raise the skimmer. I've also sat my skimmer on a tupperware container.
But if you lower the level slightly, it should start skimming drier. Some skimmers, though, are hard to adjust and just don't cooperate when you try to get them to skim dry... but I know nothing about this particular skimmer.
yeah i have some eggrate left so maybe ill make a box shelf.....and lower the water lvl a little more.....the bubble chamber is rather finicky about slight adjustments to the output valve....took me 30 mins just to get it not push water out of the top!...LOL
the skimmer itself is about 6 inches under the actual water level in the drain section....i had it lower before.....but the way its made it actually can hang on the overflow wall or the sump so its actually suspended from a piece of the black trim that is usually on the corners of the Oceanic tanks....(not a fan of the trim)
Sounds good. Yeah there are only 2 ways to adjust water level in the skimmer...raise/lower it in the water and use the adjusting screw/valve on the output. Hope that helps.
