I am not sure if this comparison has been made before, but I havent found a good thread in my search.

This would be on a 120 gallon reef with medium load and a 40 gallon fuge/sump.

I am thinking the Octopus comes out on top with less noise and energy usage than the MRC2, and better output than the TurboFloater1000. Am i correct in this assumption?

Opinions much appreciated.

What feature are you more interested in? If energy consumption is tops, the either the octopus or turbofloater. If aggressive skimming, then the MR-2.

What are you looking for in a skimmer?

If you want a MRC then I suggest an Oceanforce 200 or 300.

The Octo is to small and the Turbofloater will need to be emptied every other day. I just upraded to a new skimmer from a Turbofloater. They really do work well, it's just the collection cup could be bigger.

Oceanforce is a sweet skimmer by MRC.... I have a new skimmer coming from there next week. Not an oceanforce actually it doesnt have a name yet I know they just started making them with an askoll 1500.
