skimmer recommendations

hey guys gonna buy the skimmer for my tank with part of my tax refund, roughly 300 gallons total. am looking for a skimmer that is quiet first and foremost, price is secondary. so you guys with mrc, cones, etc. chime in let me know.

If you have the room in your sump. Check out the SWC-300A It comes with a 12" body and Comes with the Askoll pump. SWC is the same skimmer as the Octopus.Just comes with a nicer pump.I have the msx 300 and it throwing some nice foam.

MRC makes nice stuff and if any parts are needed or advice - they're there for you!

I have an SRO 5000sss. Very sweet! I'm super impressed with the BB pump. The skimmer is pretty darn quiet for what it's doing. I do know MRC is making Williams new skimmer for him...I do know it'll have an Askoll pump, and something along the lines of a 12" chamber and 6" neck or so. May want to call them up and see about it.

I'm running an MRC OF1 and love it. I know that's way to small for your tank but I've had such a good experience with MRC that I would lean towards using them for what I might need in the future. Just my .02
