skimmer silencer DIY and Easy

I have a coralife skimmer with an upgraded pump. I believe these usually have an air intake silencer, but for whatever reason, my used one has none. Man, the air intake was loud! It was unacceptable for my living room. I went to the web to find a solution. I stumbled across several diy plans, but only one could be done with things laying around the house:

Pill bottle
1/4" tubing

It works great! My skimmer went from crazy loud to about dead silent with no noticeable change in performance.

Well played. I saw this same setup on a guys skimmer in Warner Robins
