Lately I have been hearing a surge of water coming from my drains into the sump every once in a while. Loud enough that I jump up thinking its overflowing the sump, it is not. I cannot see inside my overflows to see if the water level fluctuates but I do know the durso air hole is not obstructed. The surge lasts for about 4-5 seconds
I seem to notice it more when my canopy fans kick on (pointed at water surface) or my MP40's ramp up while on Reef Crest mode. I'm thinking it could have something to do with that. Thoughts?
On another note, I have 2 drain pipes going into a 7" ring filter sock in my sump. There is about a 6" air gap from the pipe to the water surface in the sock. This is quite loud, what is a good way to quiet that down?
Plumbing is the one aspect of this hobby I will always be a noob at...
