its surprising that i could take this pic considering i was using my iphone 4s and it (the war coral not the phone) was under water although right at the surface. i took the pic and then zoomed in on my ipad and took a screenshot of that.

the original pic.

thanks guys :) im proud of it lol its the first really good pic of any of my corals that ive ever gotten. and on top of that i didnt even think it was possible with the leds cause they always make pics look weird on my phone.

thanks clay we might have to do some trading one day i saw your thread about your system and you have some nice stuff in there.

Very nice. Love war corals. The one that was given to me has done great.

nice pic and awesome war coral! the 3gs doesn't take great pics, i tried some more yesterday and got decent ones

Didn't have a close up but did the same as you with the screen shot. When it was given to me it only covered the hump in the middle of the plug. Now it has over grown the plug and spreading to the rock.

looks good i love the way they look like they're draping over whatever they're growing on kinda like pizza dough lol. heres a pic of my other colony i made this frag i think in august i cut 1 polyp off of the colony in the other pics and put it on the shell and this is it now.

Edit: too bad this pic didn't turn out as good as the other one lol

Been thinking. Yes I know that is scary. Since my war coral was given to me I would like to find a deserving member and pass a piece of it on. If I were to cut around the hump in the middle I think I could pop that off the plug. If I did that, would it fill the hole back in?

Yea it should fill back in pretty quick I cut the polyp out of the corner of that colony and if grew back in no time

Do you alrady have a plan for breaking it off? if not I would probably take a flathead and try to break through one or two polyps to get under it and pry the hump off

My thought was to "ring it with a razor blade and then like you said, pry it off with a flat head screw driver. I think it will pop off. Then I will glue it to another flat plug and see how it does.

you might be better off using the flathead to ring it as well (just take the tip of the blade and go around it tapping the driver with something using it kinda like a chisel) cause i dont thing a razor blade will be strong enough to cut through the skeleton of one thats that well encrusted unless its an industrial strength one lol
