Tank issues corals dying

As of right now I have lost:
500 elfo
green and grey acro
1 red city millie colony 1 left
misc. monti caps
bubble gum millie colony
sunset millie colony
teal stag colony
pink birdsnest colony
green birds nest small colony
spongodes small colony
purple haze monti
setosa
hawkins blue echinata
crocea

Geez bro. That's devastating. No reason to be embarraced. You're doing all you can do. I had about a 50% loss in October of fish and inverts. No explanation. Params were spot on. Did a long series of water changes and everything balanced itself. Just the nature of the beast sometimes. When you get back to normal, let me know. I'll throw some frags your way; Hawkins, Setosa,etc. They won't be big but, that is half the fun anyway.

We just have to learn as we go I guess. Ill have to hit Jeremy up again he's my main supplier lol. Whats everyone using for skimmers out there. I think I need to find a new skimmer. One that is a little less demanding cleaning wise, now that my time is limited.
I just noticed what all you lost. You may remember I have several of these and some others and we will be glad to help you get going again, when your tank is ready. Holley & Hal (You gave us some beautiful frags and they are doing great!)
Slow but sure! Wall is out between living room and dining room, most of the electrical is done, then the attic had to be reinsulated after Hal got thru moving the insulation to do the wiring. He's working on the sheetrock and scraping the ceiling because we can't match the stippling. We seem to be rebuilding these two rooms from scratch. Then the important work, making a fish room where we can view the tank from the living room. I love this hobby!!!!!! Let us know when the tank is ready for new frags!
Heres a little update. Some of my sps seem to be doing better after a million water changes. My red city millie has had some come back lately and started to have some more polyp extention, but still a little bleached looking. A fewother sps seem to be doing better as well. YAY two points for the hobbiest 0 points for the problem.
I did 25 gallon water changes every day with a new salt until I had changed out most of the system volume (300 gallons net).
All the STN I've experienced is from base to tip, not tip to base. What is stange about my brand of STN is that I've had a couple colonies go overnight, and some that start and slowly work their way up over a matter of months and weeks, and then there are some that start and go up a 1/2 inch, then stop for a couple months, then restart. And finally, I have had colonies that start and I frag the colony and the frags do fine, but when I places the same frags back in the original colony spot, they STN, but the frags at the bottom of the tank are fine and growing to this day.

A piece of info about those. I was told years ago that Poly Filters were originally developed for use in nuclear research, I am assuming because of their selective adsorption ability. I can't verify this. Can't even remeber who told me. Been keepin' fish for 35 years.
