The Quilted Reef Build

Current view of tank and some close ups. You will notice as predicted my squamosa has moved 🙂
I have been working over the last year to get my phosphates down by carefully dosing lanthanum chloride. Last summer my phosphate was 3-4ppm. No I didn't forget the decimal point. I believe that phosphate may have been leaching from the rock. Went out of town and phosphates had spiked (I think I bumped the slider in the autofeeder so too much food. Unfortunately I dropped phosphates too low and added the new dry arch replacing some live rock.
I ended up with a dino outbreak and have been working at getting that under control with UV and microbacter7. It is almost like the arch has been going through all the “new” tank stages 🙁

Tank update:

Dinos are under control (at least not visible). Turned on my UV for the first time and used Microbacter 7 plus patience I guess. UV is off now.

Next crisis, I came down to my left radion having a flickering fit and then it commenced to going dark. So I hung up the old Sky light that still worked (with a fan error). I researched lights and decided to get the Reefbreeder Meridian 45”. This will be the first time I actually have new not used lights on the tank.

My fish from Dr. Reef arrived a couple of weeks ago. 5 new anthias and two exquisite fairy wrasse. All continue to be healthy and active.

I did a pictorial catalogue this am of my acros. I can see how these can become an obsession :)
