Hey guys I have a huge aptasia outbreak ive been battling since last winter and im loosing:mad2:.

I have tried peppermint shrimp, joe's juice, aptasia x, I can get some of them but a lot of them i just can't reach and my reaction time is just not quick enough with the syringe.

I am almost to the point of pulling all my rock and boiling it.

Then I stumbled upon the copperband butterfly looks like a really pretty fish however my concern is my tank is a 3Og cube with a 20g sump and i already have 2 clowns, yellow tang, fire shrimp, cleaner shrimp.

Not concerned with the bioload as i run a mean skimmer, phosphate reactor, algae scrubber cheato and do a weekly 3-5 gallon water change alternating.

I am mainly wondering how the other tank mates will get along. I had a coco work but the pest anemone's killed it to. I probably have enough feather dusters and aptasia to feed him for a month i would imagine.

What do you guys think? I need something thats going to if not get rid of them completely at least cut the population down to size.

I had to get one for my 150. The joker cleaned house in no time. I just have got him to eat prep food. I'm not sure about a 30 gallon, Might be a little small for him. I put mine in with triggers and tangs. Acclimate slow. They are finicky.

Hmm... maybe I can see if I can get a baby one about the size of my tang and sell him down the road or (genius) i can use him as a wild card as to why I have to have a larger tank bawhahaha

On a serious note ima do some more research and see if its too stressful or not.

Hey Spud, glad to see you back. Copperbands are tricky. Live black worms are a great food to entice them to eat. If possible, try to get one that is already feeding on prepared foods. I've had mine for about 10months and he is doing well.

Have you considered an aiptasia eating filefish? They are small and if you get a good one, it will clean house in short order.
