Tiny starfish just showed itself in my DT. Reef safe? Anything to be concerned over?

Thanks. I was thinking the same thing now that it is in an easy spot to catch it.

Most just eat film algae but some can eat your coral. I am trying to find the pic of the coral eating one I had.

I have grey ones and they don't cause me any problems, but I have heard some blue ones do eat coral. If its coral eating then sump wouldn't be enough, you'd want to remove it.

The coral eating one, and good riddance to the crab!

That looks like it. Unfortunately I delayed and it moved inside a rock. Next time out it goes.

i was told there are 2 kinds. a white body = good and a grey body = bad. that the grey ones it the coriline algae.

Kenny, I would bet it's just the run of the mill asterina star and no big deal. Algae eater.

I have grey but they have never been caught bothering coral, but I have so much coriline algae that maybe they stay full. Time to experiment!

I have a TON of them, maybe that's why I have so little coraline? Any way to get rid of them?
