Thanks for the continued feedback. It gives me some measure of hope that SPS corals may be in my future.
It seems all the brand name bulbs run about $60/bulb -- so 3 bulbs begins to add up -- especially during retirement. :unsure:
I was buying the Phoenix 20K bulbs, but tried the ones mentioned in an early post. While I can't tell much difference in the color -- I really didn't know anything about the PAR values of the Phoenix bulbs -- so I really have nothing to compare with. The PAR readings I posted are on these less expensive bulbs that are 6 months old.
I may simply have to work with the softies and corals that are not too light needed.
