The challenge with Ich, is you have to break the 30 day cycle, and you will never actually get it completely out of the system without quarantining the fish for I think the 30 day life cycle? Several things can help the fish naturally fight the cycle, such as a UV, as when set up properly can greatly diminish the number the parasites, but it only will work when they are in the water column, not in the substrate on on the fish. When on the fish, you also can do freshwater dip, which will have the parasite vacate the fish, but this should only be attempted if the fish is rather strong, eating etc. It really stresses out the fish, but can make a big difference in a particularly bad case/combined with strong fish.
