I bought this from a good friend the other day....anybody seen one like it?? I haven't .....

Yes I will post a pic later. Mine has had 2 mouths for several months.
 
i have this one in my possession right now it has two mouths and it looks like it has started to do what yours is doing on one side you can see its skeleton is kinda raised/split on the top section (hard to tell when its puffed up like this but there is a noticable ridge)

Man that thing is looking nice! I have been patiently waiting for Saturday for a few weeks now.
 
Here is mine. A different type of plate. It is purple with a green glowing ring. Think I may cut it between the mouths.....

darren are you sure thats a plate? it looks more like razor coral which is a distant relative of the fungias
 
I've seen them "grow back from the dead" sort of like this. multiple organisms out of one skeleton.
 
I had a grey one like that, that grew on my old plate tree. It was just two that grew together.
