What are some options on upgrading the pump on my Biocube 14? Have any of you upgraded? If so, what are some good pumps to replace it with?

Wow!! I haven't seen you on since I bought that light fixture from you 3 or 4 years ago!

I've always seen people upgrading them to MJ1200's..

Long time no see. I decided to take the plunge again. This time with a much more manageable setup though. What kind of tank or tanks are you running now? Any pics?

I have heard about MJ900s but thought a 1200 might be too much. I have a couple of 1200 powerheads lying around. Can I use them or do I need to the ones built like a pump?

It is slightly smaller, but just as food for thought: on my daughter's 12g Aquapod I can't use a 1200... the pump outruns the "overflow" and the water level rises too high in the front.

Yep, you can use the 1200 also. Just the regular powerhead. You will have to shorten the hose on both If I remember correctly
