Useful items and where to get them

I'm looking for a cell cast acrylic around North East area any idea who sells them or a good website I could order from?

Thought I'd reintroduce this thread. Going to be using these for my probe wires, peel and stick to the inside of your stand. Good for things that need to be removed often.

Schedule 80 PVC or just electrical gray pvc conduit?

Schedule 40 electrical gray. Don't see why it wouldn't work though.

I am looking for a place to purchase Dosing Storage Containers. I really like the Vertex Dosing Containers sold by Bulk Reef Supply http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/vertex-dosing-vessel-storage-container.html">http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/vertex-dosing-vessel-storage-container.html</a> - but I am thinking there must be a place to buy them for less money.
Thoughts ? Thanks
Bruce

You could use food storage containers or most likely any kind of drinking bottle.

I use spray bottles. They have a built in hook to hang them from things and most of them have fill level markings so I can measure how much I am using.

The guy at petco had me get these things for starting up my tank o.o! What else could I use? Should I return the siphon and get the one you posted?[/QUOTE]

Hi im at the initial stage of setting up my saltwater tank.but I have some experience in setting up freshwater tanks. I did the classic mistake of buying all those chemicals when I started my first freshwater tank. Acording to my readings and suggestions by experienced members here, best is to go with RO/DI water and add salt than treating water. Also the foundation of a good aquarium is the live rock system.so before buying bottled bacteria try to cycle with live rock and live sand ( again don't buy a boatloads of expensive live sand.some live sand and dry aragonite will make your whole sand bed live later).refractometers are much better than hygrometers. I dont know how useful those gravel filters are( remember im still starting my tank .hope a more experienced reefer will talk abt this) I already use them in freshwater gravel beds and works fine for that system.dont buy bunch of starter packs or chemicals.read first and cycle your tank well. Invest on a good protein skimmer and good pumps. (Also good lights preferrably LED)then your future costs and loss of livestock will be less.

Oh also dont trust advice from these chain petstores.try local reef shops and forums .they are more knowledgeable.

"Rope Ratchets Grow Light Reflector Hangers" for Hydroponics(e-bay/hydrophonics supplies/amazon) its an adjustable light hanger. Useful in ceiling hanging system(LED) . adjustable and can hold up to 75 pounds ( and cheap !!)

Bump for an incredibly beneficial post. Hopefully we can get some new, fresh ideas in here.
