Correct. They are very prone to ich. Some species of tangs are much more prone than others, but all are more succeptible than most other fish.

I never do one without a UV. If I can do something that will benefit my fish, I'm all for it.


There are a ton of UV brands available. 99% of them are junk. The good ones are pricey, so if you're wanting to go with UV, save up and get the good one. The junk is just a waste of money and power.

EA is hands down the best. Check the specs and see for yourself. I use these on every system, large and small, from 18 watts to thousands of watts.
