Salinity probe can be just as temperamental as my kids. For < $30 (and i know it costs less than $5 to make), i will gladly pay and recommend it based on my experience.
My salinity reading becomes unstable after a tank maintenance where the return pump was turned off. this is not just an one time occurrence but so frequently that i have come to not to trust the salinity probe. regardless of what i do (including trying to get rid of the trapped bubbles), i'm not able to get the reading to be accurate until recently......
one sample of a chart after my tank maintenance... 50PPT!!!
