ive got this snail that appeared in my tank about 6 months ago.
strange enough he doesnt have a shell, just kind of a moving lump. hes pretty quick too. no i dont have a pic. ive paid him no mind but hes grown pretty fast in said months. last night i was looking at the tank and ive spotted another one. they dont come out in the light at all.
they take off when the light comes on.
any idea as to whats going on here? havent added a thing to my tank since the first frag swap of the yr this yr.
i dont know what these guys are or where they even came from. i havent heard a word anywhere about these guys.

Most likely a stomatella snail. Very beneficial to your tank. Excellent scavengers.

looing at pics of both mine looks more like the stomatella han the nudi.
what is the stomatella good for anyways?

ps

glad to see eddie is alive and well. :D

I'm betting on the stomatella also, but google both and compare what you have to the pictures! That should give you a more definit answer!

the stom is more of a snail while the nudi is more of a slug.
mine looks exactly like a snail, foot and everything.

Miss your avatar, rick.

Stomatellas are great scavengers. One of the best clean up hitch hikers, IMO. I didn't have any for a long time, then the just showed up and started multiplying.

lol oh i'll be back as soon as things calm down on here and
my lastest addictions subsides a bit. all new avitars and the same ole rick.
so acro dave better get ready with his finger on the delete button lol.

im convinced these guys are the good guys. i like watching them. for a snail they are pretty fast. i didnt want to haveto remove them.
dont like killing things if i dont have to ya know. everybody has a reason to live.

there is a lil eddie in all of us i hear it said.
i need some eddie. i lost all my disks a while back.

No worries Rick. Get a flashlight & see if there is a copper colored reflection on their back..Ansley was helping me with some rock outa my tank & I had a bunch of the stomatella snails in mine! Like you said they are fast & you cant really see anything but a mass but if you shine a light on em you can see a really pretty strange looking shell. I'm still using on that salt btw :) yall are awesome! Hope you are feeling better.
