How do you guys keep the inner linings of your PVC piping clean? I read Waste-Away is suppose to do that, but does anyone have any experience with it? Or, do you have other useful ways.
Whenever I turn my return pump back on after a water change. I sometimes get some gunk into the display. I then go in and catch it using a fish net.

After years of not cleaning the insides of the plumbing, I think I would be hesitant to put any products in the water that break stuff down. If you have some point in the system where a pipe is clogging, I would fix that issue. Just an opinion, but Im not a fan of agents such as this. Maybe someone else has used this with good results but Ive never had an issues where plumbing got gunked up.

Yeah no clogs, just some flakes of stuff sitting in my return for some reason. Since I have added a second drain, I have increased my flow back into the tank, so I didnt get anything coming into the tank last night. So, problem maybe solved.

Would something like this work

It's basically a brush on a on a string. Size the brush to the pipe size. Pull the brush through the pipe and watch the gunk come out and Don't let the gunk in the tank!

Here is the link

Yeah I might look into that if I see the gunk ever come back.
Nice find.

DR. Tims waste away is a good product, but I've never heard of it being used for cleaning pipes LOL. It is bac. designed to clean sand bed on older tanks

Thought I remembered reading that it did all on the website.
