After flooding the basement last night I was looking to see if there is somthing that can be hooked up to my AquaController and programmed so it will stop all pumps/skimmer in an event of a flood. The only thing i found so far is using a Winland WaterBug Water Sensor and 'rigging' it to the AquaController External Switch via the serial connector. Anybody have something of that nature working for them?

You will need a water sensor switch, breakout box, and a command set programmed into the AC.

Here's the switch I use ($15):

The Neptune break out box is about $40.

The programming is straight foward... If Switch1 is open then (skimmer, pump, etc.) OFF.

A relatively cheap fix to protect bigger investments.

Thanks.
What if I want to also have the serial connected to my laptop? is there a 'pass through' cable that can accommodate that?

Don't know about that... you can connect the AC to your laptop with a serial connection, but would still need the breakout box connected to the AC.
