Left my wife in charge for a few weeks, looks like she grabbed a frag with some evil, evil stuff on it, and it spread throughout the tank. What (relatively) reefsafe options do I have at this point?

P.S. If you tell me I just need to get a bigger tank and start over, I'll understand ;)

Acroholic posted a thread on how to get rid of this. Let me see if i can find it

Definitely Tech M, it worked for me after a new frag introduced it. Bryopsis definitely sits on the left hand of Lucifer!

Rabbit fish? And maybe increased light time in the fuge? I am a naturalist, but sometimes it does not always work.

You would still be keeping the naturalist way by using tech M IMO, Tech M is magnesium. Its natural to be in your tank and required for it to function properlly. Anyway its not a chemical or like a treatment its more of a suppliment. Well I guess it is a chemical but anyway you get the point I hope.

That being said only Tech M seems to work, no other mag suppliment seems to work. Something about increasing your levels well above the desired 1300 - 1350 with tech M does something to the bryposis.

Look up the threads on here and check the level that they guys have been keeping their levels at and for how long. I'm not sure, I've never used this method. Plenty say it works with minimal damage to certain corals. Others it doesn't seem to effect.

Whoever figures out what it is in the Tech M that effects the bryposis will become a rich man.

I am unfamiliar, I have only recently started dosing my tanks. I also have luckily never come in contact with this issue. Glad to know, thanks for having intel peeps!

Does Tech M have any side effects that I should be aware of? I was under the impression that it contained copper and would therefore be bad for my inverts.

I've heard where some folks lost an invert or two. I literally lost a hand full of snails. PETA types may disagree with me but I think the losses are more than worth the gains.
