What's causing this one drain to flow faster

Why is this drain overflowing faster than the other drain? Does the durso standpipe have something to do with it? Im still making adjustments to this durso since its the tank is only 5 days old.

if the tank is not perfectly leveled that can happen. Also I see that you are using the Eshoppes sump with the accordion tubing. If one tube is a nice even flow to the sump it will flow faster than one that it bent or twisting up higher than the other.
I always try to pvc plumb my drains.

If the tops of the drains aren't vented one may be pulling a full siphon while the other one isn't.

The drain on the left is making a bunch of noise and was going up and down. I bought some PVC pipe tonight to rebuild my durso. The previous owner had some funky standpipes with a bunch of holes. I'm hoping that will fix the problem. I did make the hole larger on that drain pipe so I guess that's why it's flowing faster than the other.

You can always add a ball valve to the overflowing drain to limit the amount of water that passes through

I'm no expert but didn't think you should ever particially restrict an over flow drain?
I could have bad info, not positive!

No, it would just increase flow to the other drain. Plus since it's a ball valve, he could change the amount of flow that was restricted.

You can add a ball valve to a drain if you have a second one to catch up. That is how the new larger Red Sea Max tanks are set up.

As long as you don't restrict more than the flow from the return pump, you'll be in good shape. Trust me, you'll know when you do, cause either your return will be sucking air, or you'll have water on your flow. I hope the first rather than the latter

Well I installed the my DIY durso pipes and its definitely quieter. The water level dropped in the over flow box and now I hear the water splashing. But the glass blocks the sound. Now I just need to figure out how to slow the drain water. Everything is overflowing out of the sock. It never ends. Lol

Thanks for the clarification, mine is gravity fed so I guess that's why I was told that.
