Normally I wouldn't have a nem but was gifted it along with some other coral and I'm just trying to give it a good homeWell by only temp acclimating you have shocked it and it may still recover. I normally would never add a nem before 6 months. They need stability and young tanks are seldom stable. I would still test all parameters and then test them again just to be sure
Everyone makes mistakes. Asking for help is how you learn. Anyone in the hobby that claims to have never killed something is lying.Normally I wouldn't have a nem but was gifted it along with some other coral and I'm just trying to give it a good home
My inkbird also got out of whack but they can be readjusted/calibratedJust FYI my inkbird reads about 2 degrees off. I have 3 thermometers in my DT and 2 read very close and the inkbird almost 2 degrees higher
Edit...sorry I just saw you said yours is close. I can’t get mine to match the others but need to because it runs my backup heater.
Don't beat yourself up. I put a nem in my tank at day 17 and acclimated for 30 minutes and its still with me. I feed that sucker everyday.Normally I wouldn't have a nem but was gifted it along with some other coral and I'm just trying to give it a good home
How? I can’t figure it out and it’s the new WiFi version and the directions don’t match the unit! It shows it having a reset button, it doesn’t.My inkbird also got out of whack but they can be readjusted/calibrated
3 months old is WAY too new for an anemone. I would hold off on adding any new coral, or ornamental animals for a while. Water chemistry is more than nitrate, calcium alkalinity, salinity, and temperature ; mature tanks have things that we can't test for, carbon concentration, bacteria strains, and a lot of other things that I don't know about.I temp acclimated (hangs head) didn't drip acclimat didn't think of it.tank is right 3 months old. Still no nitrates or phosphate lighting is sbreef LEDs all the corals is doing good and showing signs of growth from monti to some acro to softies to leathers. Checked all prams today and calcium and alkalinity was low dosed 2.5ml of all for reef slowly
I dont know if the wifi is any different but if i remember right if you click thru the onscreen menu you click until it says CA i believe. Then you can adjust temp+/-. All i did was take the readings from one glass and 2 digital thermometers and adjusted it to match. I found a user manual online. They weren't the best directions but i eventually got it. I keep 4 thermometers in my tank, sump , frag tank to checkHow? I can’t figure it out and it’s the new WiFi version and the directions don’t match the unit! I too did this about a year and a half ago. Totally sucks3 months old is WAY too new for an anemone. I would hold off on adding any new coral, or ornamental animals for a while. I really just think you jumped the gun on getting the nem too soon. I did the same thing unfortunately about 7 years ago and had to watch it perish because there wasn't anyone to point me away from it. The guy at the fish store said my tank was good, he made his sale.
I’ve made the mistake of listening to the store people a couple of times now and have had to feel bad when a fish or three have died. Not saying the lfs people don’t know what they’re talking about but, let’s face it, they want to sell their products. Now I only trust my forum buddies because you aren’t afraid to give it to me straight, and I like that!3 months old is WAY too new for an anemone. Lol you sound like me! I have thermometers everywhere! The guys at the store can't see your setup, don't know your struggles, and hardly ask questions because they don't have time to ask about everyone's tank. We get to excited when we're go in to stores and see things we like and forget all about things that we have going on with the tank, we're only focus on the new shiny thing at the store. It's easy to get distracted even as an experienced reefer that SHOULD know better.I’ve made the mistake of listening to the store people a couple of times now and have had to feel bad when a fish or three have died. It's a piece of monti I about bleached out its healing where it's at. I had it way to far up. It's also about 2 inches in front of the nemWhat is the thing under the anemone in the picture?
Ok. Just wanted to be sure there want anything there that would fight with the nem. It's a piece of monti I about bleached out its healing where it's at. I had it way to far up. It's also about 2 inches in front of the nem
