Where to get dry sand?

Don't know if you placed your order or not. According to my Fed Ex tracking number, the rock has shown up at my house today. I still have yet to receive a tracking # for sand, which was coming USPS. Sent an E-mail trying to figure out what the hold up was.

I just placed my order. The website says USPS, but, the checkout process said FedEx...

Ringo: Throw up some pics when you get yours, please...

Did you order sand and rock? Make sure to watch for both tracking #s. He never ended up shipping my sand.

Yup. I placed my order with reefrocks earlier today and have been in almost constant email communication with the owner. He says my order will ship out tomorrow..., so far!!!

That's actually some pretty good looking stuff...

Can't wait for mine to get here... I went ahead and bumped up my order to 100 pounds of rock, and 160 pounds of sand...

How did you stack that rock? Glue or rods???

Its got all kinds of stuff in ut when you look at it under a microscope

Actually I used nothing that's rock on top of rock and is pretty sturdy the rock came in with large pieces so it was fairly easy... The little rubble that did break off I just threw it in my refugium

Thanks for the thread guys! I know where I'm getting my rock and sand from on my new tank.

Just curious but is there some way to calculate how much sand I'll need for a 72"x36" tank to make a 3-4" sand bed?

I'm not sure about a calculator, but, my tank is 72X24. I ordered 160 pounds just to be sure I'm covered. I'll let you know how much I end up using, and how deep it makes my sand bed if it'll help...

BTW: Got my rock in today. Looks just like what was posted above. Very nice stuff!!!
