I just got done reading about growonix high flow cold RO membranes.

What am I missing? The membrane produces 200+ gpd with a waste ratio of 2:1 and it works with cold water (like our's in winter). Why aren't we all using these?

The membranes for RO are manufactured in a way to produce microporous voids, through which the solvent (water) can flow, but the solute (ions) cannot.

Apparently these folks have developed a significant improrovement in the manufacturing process for the membranes. I will wager they have increased the number of voids, without affecting the quality of them.

Nice find! Thanks for sharing this.

The catch is they're $80, I guess. Still might be worth it next time I need to change the membrane.

I'd be willing to pay double the price of a regular 75 gpd Dow Filmtec. People spend alot more the $40 trying to increase the output by using multiple membranes and booster pumps. Seems like the magic upgrade. One simple membrane and no more cold water, low pressure, low output problems.
