This cup-shaped "thingy" (<-- technical term) appeared on a xenia a few days ago. Is this stress or some kind of pest? My xenia isn't looking as healthy as it has in the past.

Looks to me like it's getting stung by the green star polyps. It should recover, but the GSP could start to crowd it out.

The way the xenia walks around, you'd think it'd move! Didn't know star polyps would sting. Thanks!

In the "for-what-it's-worth" category, the protrusion just went away on its own...

Good! Xenia is pretty resilient. I've been trying to rid my tank of it for quite some time, but whenever I think I've gotten all of it, a new tiny stalk will appear and blossom into a huge colony.
