We were mailed a work book and DVD. We did all of the class work prior to going on the cruise.
When we underway we did all of our poolwork and when we made port we did our check out dives. A exam was given at the end and we were certified. This worked for us since we were already booked for the cruise. We had a great time and our instuctor was awesome. It was on Royal Caribbean. I did not think at anytime that we received any less training than what we would have be given in a traditional course.
