Why can’t I just put orange film on it?

A bunch of guys in a reef2reef thread asked if you could wrap a tank in orange film and forgo the need for reef glasses. Well the discussion stopped short of name calling ‘why the hell would you do that?!!’ but I was on Temu the other day and they had a roll of orange film so I got to thinking - could this do that and stop the blue glow across my room and well it kinda works but the orange isn’t light enough to be great - by there are other options so stay tuned! It is nice not to have to put the reef glasses on though.

oh I get plenty of things to work and Mrs. Mick tells me those things are dumb. And she’d be right.

Downside of filming the tank is that it doesn’t get ambient light so you need to change lighting. And clearly you need the right orange to make the corals pop without being too dark and trying every shade to find the right one is not real smart.
