Would it be over kill to use an apex controller on my 10gallon nano?

What are you planning on keeping in it? SPS tank then no, softy tank then yes.

Not overkill if you can afford it. Great tool to help manage your tank. Get the PM1 and a ph probe too. That would be my recommendation along with a breakout box to control ATO if you don't have one already.

Same debate I am going through with a bigger tank, not sure if I should get a controller or not. Yes it makes things easier but is it really worth the $400? I guess convenience costs a lot these days.. I will still prob get one :)

Absolutely....even more so if you enjoy vacation.

True! I went out of town last week and was finding myself thinking about how many gallons of water would be on my floor if something went wrong lol. Luckily everything was fine when I got back. Will mostly likely be my Christmas present to myself

Exactly. I can put my tank in feed mode from anywhere with an internet connection including my phone. Very handy for family members that forget exactly what to do or occasional house sitters. Also lets me check on parameters at any time. We travel frequently so it eases my mind tremendously. That, and you can do some really cool stuff with it. Like configure it to control your Christmas tree lights .
